Free
will,... what is it? I just watched a video where the person speaking
held the position that free will is an illusion. Now this person had
an education, and was trying to beat his audience into intellectual
submission with it. His whole position for his theory was based in
physical reality. Obviously from his point of view, if a person could
see, touch, taste or smell something, then it had validity.
Here
is my response to the question of "is free will an illusion?"
People
are self aware. We can think about what we are thinking about!
What
is the mechanism of thought that gives us the ability to think? It is
our consciousness. The brain does not think. It facilitates the
activity of thought, by translating physical sensory data, as well as
light, into electrical impulses which become either immediately
utilized, or stored in the brain, to be activated later as memories.
The brain works much like a computer. However a computer doesn't
think.
Consciousness
allows you to think, and in the process gives you the ability to ask
questions about your environment, such as "Is free will an
illusion?"
Where
does your consciousness come from? Well,... it's "not" your
consciousness you're using. Your consciousness along with everyone
else's, is an individualized part of a singular consciousness,
belonging to the creator of all life.
Each
of us has been given the gift of self awareness, and we are sharing
in the consciousness of the intelligence which created us. This is
why GOD knows our every thought, and there can be no secrets from
HER.
To
say then, that you "think" there is no GOD, means that you
are thinking, without giving any thought as to the mechanism of how
you are thinking, or to what thought is in the first place. In effect
then, you are using GODS tools, to draw the conclusion that there is
no GOD!
Is
free will an illusion? My answer is that your free will is always
relative to the will of your creator. This means that you have free
will, within the reality where your creator has placed you. This
reality has it's own laws, some of which, can not be violated or
amended by people in any way.
Thus
a short concise answer would be to say that, whatever GOD wants,...
is, and whatever she doesn't want, doesn't happen. Therefore, if you
are doing something, then it must be by "your" will that
you are doing it, and the fact that you are doing it, tells you that
you are free to do so.
Let us be clear however, that just because you "can" do something, doesn't mean that you've made the vibrationally highest choice.
Let us be clear however, that just because you "can" do something, doesn't mean that you've made the vibrationally highest choice.
My
personal opinion is that all potential outcomes must at some point be
explored, in order for human experience to become complete. This
means experiencing both the good and the bad.
By
the way, it took me the better part of my life to realize that
emotion always rules over logic. And that just annoys the hell out of
most people with a logical mind (well it annoyed "me"
anyway!).
P.S. The fact that you can interact with a spiritual being who doesn't have a physical brain, should be validation enough that thought does not initiate within physical reality.
