If you think you're an atheist, then you're not thinking. Anyone who declares themselves to be an atheist, has made that statement in absence of any real thought about the nature and source of life.
The purpose of calling yourself an atheist supposedly is to give other people the idea that you have thought the matter over seriously, and come to a specific conclusion as a result of that thinking.
In actual fact, calling yourself an atheist really just a convenient way to avoid thinking at all, and that is why it is a stand that is becoming so popular. Thinking is hard work, creative work, and many people are more inclined to physical stimulation rather than mental per suites.
There is nothing wrong with being an atheist because it's just a label people put on themselves, and has no real bearing or ability to alter their true nature and reality. As a person you are what you are, and a rose is still a rose by any other name.
For most people being an atheist is just a way to signify to other people that you have opted out of the God club. It's trendy and cool, and of course backed for the most part by much of the scientific community, so how can it not be a contender for the next major belief system of humanity?
I have stated this before and will do so again for those who may have missed my thoughts on this issue.
You can not find God by asking to be "shown" God.
The very fact that you are searching for the creator testifies to the fact that you have no idea what you're looking for. Refusing to believe in what you can't see is equally illogical given how much of daily life is beyond the ability of the human eye to discern.
Humanity has certain tools which it uses to discover and alter its environment. The greatest of these tools is the ability to think. Even science will tell you that if you were to lose your ability to think then you can no longer interact with the world around you. Isn't that what a person in a coma has going on?
And so humanities ability to think is used by science to what end? Why to find the answer to the source and purpose of our existence of course. Now how does science use thought?
Well it uses thought to quantify, verify, and catalog all visually discernible reality, because it is a lot easier to prove results you can see, than to work with that which you can't see. Thus over time, this trend to work with what is discernible has developed into the science we now have.
Let's face it, if you decided two or three hundred years ago to work with those areas of life that people could not see, how would you prove to anyone you were correct? A few of your fellow scientists might have jumped on board, however most of the scientific community would be skeptical to say the least, and the general public would probably laugh you out-of-town.
And so as a result of past trends within the scientific community it has been the practice of science to work with those aspects of life that are visually provable.
Getting back to the topic of thought, we find science using the naturally occurring phenomenon of thought as a dominant tool in their daily work, while at the same time not being able to fully understand the nature of thought. One thing is for certain, if those governing the masses knew how thought worked and could control it, they would have done so by now. Just look at all the attempts at mental manipulation by those forces in the past.
Atheists as well as science are using their consciousness without much forethought, to reach a conclusion that there is no God.
Of course they don't want to go into the area of "consciousness" for the reason that they know how hard it would be to hold up any tangible results. Besides, who gives research grants to finance the investigation into where God is hiding. What would be the commercial application to that research? How long has science been looking for the cure for cancer? They have yet to find the cure for a disease you can see, how long do you think it would take them to find the invisible source of all creation?
Science has put itself in the position of declaring that they have not found any existence of God in the visible universe. They have done this while using a thought process and a consciousness which they can not understand or explain.
Atheists and scientists remind me of the joke where a guy is half drunk and searching around late at night under a street lamp for his car keys. When a passing stranger asks the man if he can help him find his keys the man says sure. After a few minutes of searching the stranger asks the man where he had them last, and the man says, by my car. Where is your car the stranger asks the man? Down the street a ways says the man, pointing in the direction of his car. Then why are you looking over here the stranger asks the man? Because the lights better over here, says the man!
In closing then I will say that government research grants and professional recognition all reside where the light is better, however if you really want to find something maybe you should incorporate a few different parameters and conditions into your search.
